• The Digital Skills and Jobs community is growing fast

19 July 2017260 stakeholders have already joined the Coalition and 16 National Coalitions have been set up. DIGITALEUROPE’s members are invited to join and take action.

The Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition brings together Member States, companies, social partners, non-profit organisations and education providers, who take action to tackle the lack of digital skills in Europe. The Secretariat of the Coalition is run by DIGITALEUROPE, in partnership with European Schoolnet and All Digital, on behalf of the European Commission.

Since its launch in December 2016, around 260 stakeholders across sectors have become members of the Coalition, joining forces to boost digital skills in Europe. More than 70 member organisations and businesses took their engagement a step further, pledging action to equip all Europeans with the digital skills needed to live, work and participate in the digital society. Among these, eight members of DIGITALEUROPE, namely CA Technologies, CISCO, Dell, Google, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Microsoft, Oracle and SAP. Aggregately, actions taken by pledgers have already provided digital skills training to more than 7M Europeans, certifications and skills assessment to more than half a million people and raised awareness among nearly 600,000 citizens.

Up to date there are also 16 National Coalitions connecting public authorities, business, education, training and labour market stakeholders to collaborate in boosting digital skills in their country. Four coalitions are led by DIGITALEUROPE NTAs in Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Spain. More National Coalitions will be formed as the ultimate goal is to have the coalition present in every EU Member State.
