JOB VACANCY: Communications Officer for EU projects

DIGITALEUROPE has a long-standing experience in coordinating and participating in a large number of European and privately funded projects. Our current project work focuses primarily on supporting the goals set in the EU’s digital decade agenda for digital skills and competences but also in strategic areas like digital health, green deal and manufacturing. In many of these initiatives, DIGITALEUROPE’s role lies in communication and stakeholder outreach/engagement — enhancing collaboration with our members and beyond.

We are looking for:

The Project Communications Officer implements communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement plans and actions of European projects on digital, covering all DIGITALEUROPE’s top priority policy topics as well as research and innovation priorities.

In this role, you will work directly with the project partners to implement communication actions and engage EU-wide stakeholders following high-quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with the project communication managers, the project team as a whole and the policy teams.

As the leading trade association in the field of digital technologies and digitalising industries, we are looking for a motivated, pro-active candidate who is full of ideas that can help drive the organisation forward. It is essential to be a team player and have a flexible approach to the role and responsibilities.

We offer a one-year contract with the possibility for extension.

Execution and reporting of agreed communication tasks in projects to the highest standard, including:

  • Managing the social media accounts of EU projects (mainly LinkedIn, X – Twitter and YouTube) including organic and paid editorial planning, key performance indicators monitoring and periodical reporting
  • Managing website and newsletter content of EU projects.
  • Creating graphics (visuals, videos, etc.) to support communication and outreach activities on social media channels and
  • Proofreading, editing, and overseeing design of project-related documents.
  • Monitoring EU projects’s communication KPIs and carrying out soft analysis of the indicators.
  • Creating and executing communication plans and specific communication campaigns, as well as supporting in the creation of guides and toolkits for project partners.
  • Assisting in developing and engaging online communities around projects.

    Key requirements for the role include:

    • 1-2 years of experience in a communications or public relations related role.
    • Strong written and verbal English skills (native or C2 level)
    • Experience with web-publishing tools and CMS (WordPress, Drupal) and social media platforms
    • Experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Suite) and creation of visuals for Social Media and websites
    • Experience in creating social media content and reporting/analytics
    • Experience with email marketing tools (Mailchimp, MailerLite)
    • Good writing skills; ability to structure information according to formats and goals, tailor content to different audiences and channels
    • Some experience with event organisation, or support in the organisation of events and meetings
    • Pro-active, organised and able to meet deadlines
    • Ability to work cooperatively with team members and stakeholders from across Europe, enjoys an international working environment
    • Good ability to set priorities, monitor progress towards goals and track actions

    Other desired experience/skills

    • Previous experience working with EU-funded projects (Erasmus+, CEF, Digital Europe)
    • Experience in communication in digital technology / ICT field
    • Experience and skills in website creation or video production
