DIGITALEUROPE's Pan-European

Future Unicorn Award 2020

  • The Future Unicorn Award aims at celebrating SMEs from across Europe that have the potential to become the future European Tech giants. It puts under the spotlight SMEs which have demonstrated to be successful in digitising their business processes and in offering innovative digital products and services.

The award is compiled by asking all the national trade associations affiliated with DIGITALEUROPE to select a single SME from their country. This results in a truly pan-European selection of incredible digital companies from all sectors, including financial technologies, health solutions, smart home, academic, industrial and many more.

The award is also a testimony of the vital importance of SMEs in the wider digital ecosystem. It represents an opportunity to advocate for EU-wide policies and regulatory frameworks that nurture the entrepreneurial culture and enable SMEs to scale up.

The ceremony took place on 6 February 2020 at the Masters of Digital Conference. Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth handed the award to Corti from Denmark.

2020 winner – Corti from Denmark

  • Corti from Denmark

Corti is an intelligent partner that uses AI to build “a GPS” that guides physicians through patient interviews, making sure they get to the right conclusion fast.

“Today, only 6% of the world’s unicorns are from the EU – this is not enough! By showcasing some of the brilliant start-ups from across Europe here in Brussels, we hope to highlight to EU leaders what these companies need to take their business to the next level. All three finalists today have the potential to become Europe’s future unicorns, but the jury believes that Corti from Denmark will be first!” explained Cecilia Bonefeld-Dahl, Director General of DIGITALEUROPE.

We’re honoured to receive this award and to be recognised at the European level. There is an extensive amount of innovation happening in Europe’s healthcare sector and Corti is being recognized for its potential of becoming a true game-changer. We’re driven forward knowing that our technology has the ability to save lives every day and hope that Europe’s leaders continue to advocate for the importance of innovation in healthcare.”, said Andreas Cleve, CEO of Corti.
