Network for Digital Health Excellence project sets EU Health innovation in motion with upcoming European Digital Health Summit

The Network for Digital Health Excellence (NET4DHE), a new and ambitious initiative funded under the EU4Health Programme and launched in June 2025, is setting the stage for a major milestone: the European Digital Health Summit, taking place in Madrid on 1 and 2 December 2025.

The NET4DHE project brings together a wide range of European stakeholders to strengthen collaboration across Member States and EU4Health Programme–associated countries. Its goal is to accelerate digital transformation, enhance system resilience, and contribute to building a stronger, more unified European Health Union.

At the core of the NET4DHE project is the European Digital Health Summit, a two-day hybrid event that will bring together health leaders from across Europe to tackle key challenges. The Summit will focus on four main themes: healthcare systems and workforce, the One Health approach, pharmaceuticals, and digital transformation in health.

The Summit will feature policy dialogues, hands-on workshops, and live demonstrations, where participants will explore shared hurdles that vary from workforce shortages and gaps in digital adoption, to unequal access to medicines and environmental health threats, while co-developing practical, scalable solutions.
NET4DHE aims to build lasting momentum beyond the Summit. The project is designed not only to host a high-level event, but to create a sustainable platform for exchange, alignment, and capacity building within Europe’s digital health ecosystem.

A unique feature of the Summit will be a dedicated session on EU–LAC (Latin America and the Caribbean) Cooperation, which will highlight the strategic potential of collaboration in education, health, innovation, and skills development.

The European Digital Health Summit in December is just the beginning. As NET4DHE moves forward, it will continue to support the development of national and regional digital health strategies, contribute to policy coherence at EU level, and ensure that stakeholders across sectors and borders remain actively engaged in shaping the future of health in Europe.
