Vacancy: (Senior) Manager for Press & Media

Job Description

The Press and Media Manager will contribute to the organisation’s external visibility by supporting both communications activities and media engagement. The role ensures consistent, high-quality messaging across channels and supports the organisation’s positioning as a leading voice in Europe’s digital policy and innovation landscape. 

The role combines content development, writing, campaign execution, and media outreach support, working closely with policy, outreach, and senior leadership. 

Key Responsibilities: 

    Communications and content 

    • Work closely with policy and outreach teams to translate complex topics into clear and impactful narratives. 
    • Support media planning with the policy teams. 
    • Monitor press and inform staff on important and interesting events. 
    • Write high-quality content across key channels (website, social media, newsletters). 
    • Plan and align on messaging across all communications outputs. 
    • Execute communication campaigns, incl. around reports, policy priorities and key initiatives. 

    Media outreach and content 

      • Draft and write press materials, including press releases, media briefings and op-eds. 
      • Support the organisation of media interviews and press briefings. 
      • Proactively identify media opportunities and contribute to positioning the organisation’s priorities in the press. 
      • Monitor media coverage and analyse the organisation’s media impact and visibility. 
      • Prepare talking points, Q&A and briefing materials for senior leadership. 

      Campaigns and events 

        • Support communication and media outreach around major events, announcements and campaigns. 
        • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure strong visibility and coherent messaging across activities. 

        Qualifications & experience: 

        • 4–7 years of experience in communications, media relations, journalism or public affairs. 
        • Experience working in EU policy and/or a Brussels-based environment. 
        • Experience in technology, digital policy or industry associations is an asset. 

        Skills & competencies 

        • Excellent writing and editing skills in English. Native-level English is needed. 
        • Ability to translate complex policy topics into clear and engaging content. 
        • Good understanding of media dynamics and communications channels. 
        • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 
        • Strategic mindset combined with hands-on delivery.

        • Strong judgement and ability to operate in a fast-paced policy environment.
