Vacancy: Policy Officer (Manager) for Executive Outreach & Events

Job Description

DIGITALEUROPE is looking for a dynamic and hands-on Policy Officer (or Manager) to drive our Executive Outreach & Events activities. This role sits at the intersection of policy, stakeholder engagement and high-level event delivery, offering a unique opportunity to shape how Europe’s top business leaders engage with EU policymaking.

Working closely with the Associate Director for Operations & Executive Outreach, the Director for Operations & Intelligence, and our policy teams, you will help turn policy priorities into impactful executive-level engagement. You will play a central role in strengthening and activating a strong community of C-level leaders across sectors, including defence, health, finance, public sector and energy.

This is an opportunity for a dynamic person who combines strong execution and interpersonal skills with strategic thinking, being able to deliver high-quality outputs and grow into shaping engagement with senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic project management: Support the annual planning and delivery of activities across DIGITALEUROPE’s Executive Councils. Ensure activities are well-defined, delivered on time and to a high standard, and continuously improved through structured evaluation and learning.
  • High-level events & deliverables: Support and progressively take ownership of the end-to-end organisation of flagship executive events (at least one per Council per year) and strategic publications (every two years per Council).
    This includes:

    • Designing compelling event concepts aligned with policy priorities;
    • Managing invitations and high-level stakeholder outreach;
    • Coordinating preparatory discussions with participants;
    • Managing logistics and ensuring smooth and high-quality delivery;
    • Producing insightful outputs (stakeholder analysis, event reports, messaging summaries for social media posts, infographics, etc.)
  • Executive stakeholder management & engagement: Act as a key point of contact for executives’ teams. Build and maintain strong relationships with advisors and offices through regular communication, tailored outreach, and curated updates (e.g. newsletters, briefings, calls), ensuring smooth coordination and clear and diplomatic communication.
  • Governance & processes (Council membership): Ensure a smooth and transparent implementation of governance rules applicable to Executive Councils, supporting the assessment of new candidacies in accordance with the internal requirements, and ensuring processes are followed and databases and systems are accurately maintained and kept up to date.
  • Contribution to strategic advocacy: Work closely with policy teams to integrate Executive Council insights into DIGITALEUROPE’s priority campaigns, helping amplify the voice of industry leaders in EU policy debates and strengthening the organisation’s overall impact.

Qualifications & experience:

    • A Degree or certification in Business Administration, Project Management, EU Affairs, Public Relations or a related field is preferred
    • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in:
      • EU policy, public affairs, or advocacy
      • Event management (preferably high-level / institutional)
      • Stakeholder engagement or membership-based organisation
    • A good understanding of how the EU works and digital policies

    Skills & competencies

    • Excellent communication skills, with excellent command of English (oral and written); French is a plus.
    • Strong attention to detail with solid analytical and organisational skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, managing multiple deadlines. Strong team player
    • Comfortable or eager to work with databases and IT systems
    • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
    • Creative and design skills are an asset
