Our current project work focuses strategic areas such as AI & data spaces, digital rights, inclusion and skills, green transition, health, cybersecurity and digital resilience. DIGITALEUROPE’s role lies in research, sustainability, project management, and communication and stakeholder engagement. 

Key responsibilities 

We are looking for a Senior Research and Innovation Manager for Projects who will be responsible for coordinating and delivering DIGITALEUROPE’s EU-funded projects. You will report to the Director for Projects.  

The position requires an experienced project manager with deep understanding of EU funding mechanisms and track record in project design and research-oriented output development. 

  • Manage the daily activities and implementation of DIGITALEUROPE’s projects and tenders. 
  • Take a pivotal liaison role with project stakeholders and ensure efficient communications with the European Commission. 
  • Monitor the overall progress regarding milestones and deliverables, reporting to the Associate Director of Projects. 
  • Identify and manage risks linked to the project implementation, as well as propose and implement adequate risk mitigation measures. 
  • Champion the preparation of deliverables, including research-oriented reports and annual reports, as well as preparation of progress reports to the European Commission. 
  • Identify funding opportunities for the development of DIGITALEUROPE’s project activities and design new project proposals and tenders. 
  • Support the organisation of events, meetings, agendas, and   presentations. 
  • Represent DIGITALEUROPE at events and meetings. 
  • Take a leading role in writing project proposals and tenders. 
  • Ensure the adherence to best practices in research methodology and project management in EU funded projects. 

Key requirements for the role include: 

  • Three to five years’ work experience in project management, with at least two years working with European funded projects and tenders. 
  • Research and innovation experience in writing scientific articles and reports, as well as good knowledge of research methodologies. 
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills, with experience of working collaboratively with staff at all levels within the organization. 
  • Excellent presentation skills, with experience of presenting to senior staff and external audiences. 
  • Proven ability as a community & network builder. 
  • Proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of additional languages is a plus. 

It would be valuable to have 

  • Extensive network of trusted contacts in the EU research and innovation field. 
  • Knowledge of communication and stakeholder engagement strategies. 
  • PhD in an ICT field or related scientific area. 
  • Ability to build consensus and promote trust both externally and internally. 
  • Additional languages are a plus.
