JOB VACANCY: Senior Manager or Associate Director for Outreach Campaigns

We are looking for:

We are looking for an Associate Director or Senior Manager who will be responsible for coordinating outreach campaigns on our most important issues.  You will report to the Senior Director of Outreach and work closely with the Director General.

This is a unique position that will place you at the heart of Europe’s digital agenda. The position requires a strategic project manager and networker who feels comfortable mobilizing people to drive visible and impactful political campaigns. It will require reaching out to high-level executives & public officials and a strong interest in digital policy matters. You will be part of the Outreach team and of the Senior Policy Management team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic planning & delivery of outreach campaigns: You will lead the internal planning and delivery process of our outreach campaigns on our Tier 1 priority files. This includes planning a full year ahead, identifying relevant information for maximum policy impact, and coordinating different teams, members, and stakeholders. You will furthermore become and outreach anchor person for contacts and relations to the European Commission.
  • Content creation: Working with the Outreach and Communications teams, you will be responsible for writing and producing high-level content, such as Reports or Articles, as part of the outreach campaigns.
  • Forecasting of policy development: Collaborating with the Operations & Member Relations team, you will forecast upcoming policy developments. This includes maintaining an up-to-date yearly outreach plan and ensuring the association’s proactive engagement early on in the life-cycle of the issue.
  • Stakeholder engagement & Member relations: In line with the outreach campaigns, you will strategically plan the engagement of relevant stakeholders for maximum impact. This will involve closely working with Business executives, Scale-ups, National Trade Associations, and other relevant members. A particular workstream will focus on the European Commission.

Key requirements for the role include:

  • Your personality: You possess a robust and loyal personality and are a dedicated team player with good judgement. You can work effectively under time and mental pressure, and approach challenges with a positive attitude.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of experience in public affairs working for a trade association, corporation, consultancy or government (including in the European Commission or in a role that had relations to the European Commission).
  • Project Manager: You have a proven track-record of a strong project management. Effectively planning a full year in advance, budgeting resources, constructing implementation timelines, and coordinating colleagues & stakeholders to deliver on the project.
  • Cooperative: Demonstrated experience in working across the organisation and coordinating actions from staff from across teams.
  • Communication & Analytical Skills: Excellent writing and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex policy matters succinctly to both a business and policy audience. Proficiency in English is mandatory; knowledge of French or German is a plus. You also have excellent analytical skills, with the ability to distil complex policy documents into key points that speak to the audience.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the digital landscape in Europe, including regulatory frameworks, key stakeholders, and impact on the industry.
  • High-Level Engagement: Demonstrable experience of engaging with high-level policymakers and corporate executives.
  • Education: A background in business management, law, or political science, with advanced degrees being a strong asset.
