Response to the Request for Information on the American AI Export Program

DIGITALEUROPE appreciates the opportunity to provide input to the American AI Exports Program, established by the International Trade Administration within the Department of Commerce.

We understand that as part of the program, selected proposals will be designated as priority AI export packages and supported through priority access to federal financing.

Against this backdrop, cooperation with allies – notably the European Union (EU) – and inclusion of critical technologies from Europe can only strengthen the competitiveness of AI export packages and the transatlantic tech stack. The US and EU have complementary strengths in critical technologies, and as such, the program presents an opportunity to foster transatlantic cooperation and innovation across the AI ecosystem.
