Our Energy Executive Council

To bridge the gap between business and policy expertise and to advance the much-needed digital transformation of the energy industry, DIGITALEUROPE has launched its Energy Executive Council. The Council – comprising 11 senior executives from leading energy and green technology companies is committed to boosting the competitiveness of the EU’s traditional energy-intensive industries and emerging clean technology sectors.

Recent Engagements

The Energy Executive Council is one of four Executive Councils at DIGITALEUROPE, alongside our Defence, Health and Finance Executive Councils.

Bringing together senior leaders from across the digital and energy ecosystems, including industrial and energy technology leaders, IT companies and energy providers – all driving digital innovation — the Council reflects the diversity of the European and global energy and green technology sectors.

With companies at the forefront of decarbonisation, smart energy solutions, and digital transformation, the Council leverages its business expertise to provide concrete examples and actionable insights needed to support the policy dialogue on Europe’s clean energy future.

Executive Brief

The EU faces the same energy trilemma it did three years ago: affordability, security, and sustainability. The momentum on the green and digital transition as the accelerator to address these challenges – and EU’s competitiveness – must remain, in particular as we face the third year of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Now more than ever, digitalisation is essential to derisk, decarbonise, optimise and secure Europe’s energy system. Achieving these goals requires electrification, modernised energy infrastructure that can withstand cyberattacks and greater integration of renewable energy.
