DIGITALEUROPE's reaction to the European Commission's action plan on strengthening the cybersecurity of hospitals

Protecting our hospitals is essential, and no government can handle this challenge alone. We’re pleased to see this Plan reflect DIGITALEUROPE’s key recommendations, including strengthening public-private collaboration, reducing regulatory and administrative burdens, and funding to enhance cybersecurity measures and skills in healthcare.

However, more urgency is needed in implementing the NIS2 Directive, which only a few countries have fully transposed. Hospitals cannot afford delays—Member States and the Commission must act now to ensure swift and effective implementation.

At the same time, rules alone aren’t enough. Investment is essential to empower innovators with scalable solutions that address today’s threats and safeguard critical infrastructure. We stand ready to work together to ensure the Plan delivers on its goals and is a success.
