Releasing women’s potential for the digital economy: Women4IT launch event - 12 December 2018

The underrepresentation of women in the digital sector is a missed opportunity for Europe. Less than two in ten ICT specialists in Europe are women. That situation has not improved in recent years, even though there is a severe shortage of digitally skilled professionals.

Cultural change takes time. Meanwhile, engagement and actions at all levels are precious to show young women that technology provides great tools for boosting creativity and solve real-world problems.

Thanks to support from the EEA Grants and Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment 700 young women will be trained in digital skills, between September 2018 and August 2021.The Women4IT* project aims to help releasing the untapped women’s potential and contribute to economic growth in seven EU countries.

On the occasion of launching the Women4ITproject we are pleased to invite you to the expert networking event “Releasing women’s potential for the digital economy”. We will hear from and discuss with representatives of EU authorities, innovative digital skills programmes owners and ICT employers on how to attract more girls and women to the digital sector.
