JOB VACANCY: Project Officer (1 year)

DIGITALEUROPE is looking for a project officer to support us in the daily management of existing EU-funded projects, primarily in the fields of digital skills, inclusion, health and sustainability. We offer a one-year contract with possibility of extension. Deadline to apply: 10 September.

In many of these initiatives, DIGITALEUROPE’s role lies in communication and stakeholder outreach/engagement.

Role description

The project officer implements project management tasks for EU projects across policy fields including planning, monitoring, evaluation, project closure and post-project activities.

In this role, you will mainly support the Project Managers and work directly with the project partners to manage the efficient and timely delivery of project tasks and outputs within budget. The successful candidate will work closely with the full project team and policy teams.

The main responsibility is to support the daily management of existing projects ensuring project administration and planning are at the highest standard and managed in a timely manner. The project officer will also be supporting the preparation of EU-funded project proposals and tenders. It is essential to be a team player and have a flexible approach to the role and responsibilities.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Supporting the quality management and reporting of current projects to the highest standard, including:

  • Monitoring and mapping of relevant EU-funded opportunities aligned with strategy and eligibility
  • Planning, monitoring, and evaluating project results and outputs with project team members and project partners
  • Preparing project progress reports and meeting minutes
  • Assisting in preparing EU-funded project proposals and tenders
  • Ensuring efficient timesheet reporting across projects
  • Reporting of financial expenditures

Required competencies and skills

  • 1-3 years of experience in project administration
  • Self-driven and organised
  • Flawless in administration and attention to details
  • Work cooperatively with multiple stakeholders from across Europe
  • Set priorities, develop work schedules, monitor progress towards goals and track actions
  • Understand and apply EU funding rules to projects
  • Project management expertise in technology / ICT domains is an advantage
  • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Smartsheet is an advantage
  • Good communications skills and proficiency in English and French is an advantage

Other desired experience/skills

  • Previous experience working with EU-funded projects (Erasmus+, CEF, Digital Europe programmes)

Profile

Typically 1-3 years’ experience in project administration with special focus on EU funded

projects (grants, service contracts, FP7, etc.) is desired.
