JOB VACANCY: Senior Manager or Associate Director for Digital Resilience and Defence

Position Overview: Senior Manager or Associate Director for Digital Resilience and Defence

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager or Associate Director who will be instrumental in driving association activities and positions related to defence within DIGITALEUROPE. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of defence and related areas (ie cybersecurity, data sharing and data flows, funding, etc) policies at the national, European, and international levels, including a comprehensive grasp of procurement policies.

In this pivotal role, the Senior Manager or Associate Director will shape the future vision for a more robust and digital European defence, and define which companies have leading solution and how private sector can play a role to make Europe more secure and resilient and define which policies need to be improved or developed to support this development.

Responsibilities include stakeholder outreach, high-level engagement, delivering value to members and external stakeholders when facilitating meetings, establishing common positions with members, and driving member recruitment.

Key Requirements:

  • Six to twelve+ years of relevant industry or governmental experience.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in defence, cybersecurity, Miliary IT security, or operations.
  • Proven experience working with EDA, national MoD, ENISA, national cybersecurity authorities, computer emergency response teams, or NATO.
  • Motivated, well-organized, team player with team management experience.
  • Proven ability to engage with high-level stakeholders and promote a common vision.
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.

Valuable Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing and driving corporate leadership and business strategy.
  • Deliver convincing results in stakeholder, consortium and alliance building
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, culturally diverse environment.
  • Skill in building consensus among different stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an association or defence company.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong presentation skills, including experience presenting to members, senior staff and external audiences.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of German and/or French is desirable.
  • Background in policy, business management, or the military.
