JOB VACANCY: Communications Officer for EU projects (1 year)

We are looking for a communications officer who will help us implement communications plans as defined in various projects, primarily in the field of digital skills and diversity. We offer a one-year contract with possibility of extension. Deadline to apply: 20 August.

About the role

The Project Communications Officer implements communications plans and actions of European projects, primarily in the field of digital skills but not only.

In this role, you will work directly with the project partners to implement communication actions and engage EU-wide stakeholders and policymakers following high-quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with the project communication managers, the project team as a whole and the policy teams.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Execution and reporting of agreed communications tasks in projects to the highest standard, including:
  • Managing the social media accounts of EU projects (mainly Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube) including organic and paid editorial planning, performance monitoring and periodical reporting
  • Managing website and newsletter content of EU projects
  • Creating simple graphics for dissemination on projects’ social media and website
  • Proofreading, editing, and overseeing design of project-related documents
  • Monitoring EU projects communication performance and analysis
  • Creating and executing communication plans/campaigns, toolkits for external use
  • Assisting in developing and engaging online communities

Required competencies and skills

  • 1-2 years of experience in a communications or public relations role
  • Strong written and verbal English skills (native or C2 level)
  • Some experience with web-publishing tools and CMS (WordPress) and social media platforms
  • Strong design skills (Adobe Creative Cloud experience is a plus)
  • Experience in creating and monitoring social media content
  • Some experience with email marketing tools (Mailchimp, MailerLite)
  • Good writing skills; ability to structure information according to formats and goals, tailor content to different audiences and channels
  • Pro-active, organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work cooperatively with team members and stakeholders from across Europe, enjoys an international working environment
  • Good ability to set priorities, monitor progress towards goals and track actions

Other desired experience/skills

  • Previous experience working with EU-funded projects (Erasmus+, CEF, Digital Europe)
  • Experience in communications in the digital technology / ICT field
  • Experience and skills in website creation or video production, event management is an asset

Profile

Typically 1-3 years’ experience in communications with special focus on content creation, visual design and website management. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to various stakeholders in the digital industry and experience in communications/stakeholder management in EU projects (grants, service contracts, FP7, etc.) is desired.
