Equality in Business Leadership in the Digital Sector
Nearly 9.4 million persons hold a managerial position in the European Union (EU): 6.0 million men (64% of all managers) and 3.4 million women (36%). In addition, women account for a little over one quarter of board members of publicly listed companies in the EU (27%), and for less than one fifth of senior executives (17%) in 2018. If we want things to enact change in our sector, to increase the engagement of women in tech and make digital solutions truly inclusive, we need to act together.
With this in mind, we are organising this Equality in Business Leadership event, featuring role model women from our industry. We gladly welcome Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth Mariya Gabriel, who will join us alongside several excellent Executive women from the European business sphere.
The purpose of this event is to provide the opportunity to reflect on gender equality issues at the leadership level in the Tech industry. Our webinar will shed light on the personal career experiences of top female leaders from the industry before delving into the question of whether the Tech industry has an equality issue at a leadership level and what measures can be taken to promote more women in Business Leadership in Tech.
