The EU and the Cloud: Shaping tomorrow’s digital skyline

27th September 2023, 10:00-11:30 CET, online

Cloud technologies are a major enabler of the digital transformation. They empower the skyrocketing volume of data in the world, facilitating data storage and flows on all levels. Under its 2022 Digital Strategy, the European Commission has proposed a “cloud-first approach” to drive cloud uptake in the EU, with the objective of having 75% of European companies using cloud, big data and AI by 2030. As such, the EU is tasked with finding a balance between embracing a wide uptake of cloud services, nurturing innovation and market growth, and ensuring the security of data and infrastructure.

This DIGITALEUROPE Digital Deep Dive brings together key policymakers and industry representatives playing a vital role in the Cloud sector to shed light on the regulatory state of affairs for Cloud in the European Union.

  • How will the growing body of EU laws and initiatives impact the cloud business landscape in the EU?
  • How can we encourage tech innovation across the EU economy, while enabling state-of-the-art cloud offerings?
  • How does “sovereignty” affect a viable cloud ecosystem for Europe?

On this online panel, key stakeholders will dive into these questions to exchange perspectives and experiences to pinpoint the regulatory state of affairs for Cloud in the EU.
