DIGITALEUROPE invites you to the first event of our Digital Deep Dives series, where we will take an in-depth look at the EU Chips Act and the impact it will have on European industry.
The EU wants to regain a 20% share of global chip production by 2030. At the current pace of growth in the global market, the EU will need to boost its chip production fourfold in less than a decade to achieve such an ambitious target.
There is no time to lose. The Commission’s Chips Act proposal defines important provisions on applied research, production capacity and monitoring chip supply. The final text can enhance semiconductor leadership in Europe if we get it right.
DIGITALEUROPE’s high-level roundtable will bring together key policy-makers and critical industry players in the ecosystem, like chip users. Semiconductor use in automotive applications will almost triple to €100 billion by 2026. Two-thirds of medtech companies have chips in more than half of their products. Securing EU chip leadership in the Digital Decade is crucial for the entire European industrial base.
