Digital Intelligence Officer
Job purpose:  The Digital Intelligence Officer is responsible for providing quantitative and qualitative data, research and analysis in support of DIGITALEUROPE’s outreach activities and policy work, with the aim of building a wide understanding of both DIGITALEUROPE’s work and the digital industry. The role is closely related to the Communication and Events function. The Digital Intelligence Officer will be a member of the management team.
 

Key tasks and responsibilities
• Gather, on an ongoing basis data from public and private sector publications and studies related to a) the digital industry sector, b) DIGITALEUROPE’s policy positions and 3) current and future technology trends.
• Together with the Policy Directors, develop annual and quarterly research action plans.
• In support of key policy and project messages, gather, consolidate and analyse data, facts and figures, and translate this into messages to be conveyed to the general public and to technical specialists.
• Create publications, including marketing materials, using the results of the data gathering and research.
• Build a knowledge database of data, facts and figures based on DIGITALEUROPE’s policy areas.
• Define and drive studies to be funded by DIGITALEUROPE’s members and third parties; manage the process including the development of briefs, the identification of funding organisations, the management of third party subcontractor partners and the marketing of results.
• Participate in the planning process for events and press and communications actions together with the policy and communications teams.
 
Required competences and skills
• Background research or another area demanding strong analytical skills.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to write briefs, reports, analysis, summaries and conclusion in ‘plain English’.
• Ability to communicate complex argumentations in a simple manner.
• Demonstrable experience with structured data and databases including CRM.
• An understanding the digital industry and a profound interest in ‘things digital’.
• Experience working in an international environment.
• Structured, analytical and curious.
• Ability to work under pressure with short deadlines.

Job Description

Senior Membership Relations Manager
Job purpose: The Senior Membership Relations Manager is responsible for creating an enriching member experience with DIGITALEUROPE. She/he is responsible for recruiting and retaining members. The Member Relations Manager reports to the COO.

 

Key tasks and responsibilities

1. Create marketing plan with focus on key messaging and member services
• Develop key messaging and value propositions for existing and potential members;
• Produce communication materials for existing and potential members;
• Develop a strategy and implement actions for engaging with potential and existing members;
• Define services to be provided to existing and new potential members.
The above tasks will be undertaken in close collaboration with the Communication and Event team.

2. Recruit new members
• Create and manage the member recruitment pipeline and maintain CRM;
• Prepare strategies for the engagement and inclusion of relevant staff members in the member recruitment process;
• Perform initial qualification of potential members based on the association’s membership guidelines;
• Manage lead generation until membership approval;
• Drive the membership recruitment agenda and actions during Management meetings.

3. Retain existing members
• Track membership interaction in internal working groups, programmes and projects;
• Manage the member satisfaction survey process;
• Work with the Communications and Events team on outreach participation of existing member maintaining and improving their membership satisfaction;
• Develop a member database management system (CRM) with the aim of facilitating an understanding of member need and fostering relationship            
  management.

Required competences and skills
• Excellent understanding of, and network in, the digital technology sector;
• Demonstrable experience of linking policy work and ‘plain English’ communications;
• Outstanding customer focus together with a service-oriented attitude;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; English native speaker level;
• Hands-on person, delivery-driven and willing to go the extra mile to get things done;
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with ability to function in a multi-cultural team work environment;
• Ability to multi-task, work independently, prioritise and meet deadlines;
• Bachelor or Master degree in a relevant field’
• Experience in managing a Customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

Job Description

Senior Policy Manager – Privacy and Security
Job purpose: The Senior Policy Manager for Privacy and Security is responsible for developing and leading privacy and security policy issues within our Digital Economy policy groups. The Policy Manager reports to DIGITALEUROPE’s Privacy and Security Director.

 

Key tasks and responsibilities

1. Monitor Privacy and Security issues
• Collect and analyze intelligence
• Anticipate policy developments and to propose adequate of strategies
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations

2. Coordinate and prepare policies and industry positions
• Ensure external promotion and advocacy of DIGITALEUROPE’s positions
• Prepares reports by collecting and analyzing information
• Draft positions, policy papers, briefings, blogs, key-notes and articles
• Prepare internal reports and newsletters, as well as briefing documents for senior management when necessary

3. Attend meetings and briefings internally and externally
• Attend meetings internally and externally, including EU institutions, industry associations and other stakeholders
• Drafting meeting minutes when needed

4. Organize day to day operational support of DIGITALEUROPE Privacy and Security
• Track membership interaction in internal working groups, programs and projects
• Setting up meetings and conference calls and drafting meeting minutes

5. Provide broad support and general assistance to the DIGITALEUROPE’s Privacy and Security Director when needed
• Assist in planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences and travel
• Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes and oversee implementation of changes
• Complete projects and special assignments by establishing objectives
• Assist determining priorities, gaining cooperation of others, monitoring progress, problem-solving and adjusting plans
• Enhance DIGITALEUROPE’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Required competences and skills
• Excellent understanding of, and networking in, the digital technology sector
• Very good understanding of Privacy and Security issues, related regulation and legal issues
• Solid experience with the EU institutions and Brussels working environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; English native speaker level;
• Demonstrable experience of brilliant business writing, translating often complex policy work into ‘plain English’ communications;
• Structured with very good analytics and research skills
• Customer focused and service-oriented attitude;
• Hands-on, delivery-driven and always willing to go the extra mile to get things done;

Job description

Communications & Events Director
Job purpose: To support DIGITALEUROPE’s advocacy and business programmes, the Communications & Events Director is responsible for the management of internal and external communications, press relations and event management. Supported by two members of staff, the Communications & Events Director reports to the Director General.


Key tasks and responsibilities

1. Lead internal and external communications and press relations
• Plan communication activities using all media channels, whether traditional or social
• Translate complex policy work into plain English
• Develop policy outreach plans with the policy and project teams
• Create internal and external newsletters
• Write press releases in coordination with the policy staff
• Review articles and other external communications
• Supervise the production of marketing materials and publications
• Manage the website and social media platforms
• Manage video production from concept to editing to publishing
• Responsible for communication and event data in the CRM

2. Deliver external and internal events
• External and internal event planning (30+ events a year)
• Delivery of events, including programme, speaker identification, briefings and logistics
• Facilitate events, interviews and panels
• Drive DIGITALEUROPE’s sponsorship programme and marketing partnerships
• Identify and track speaking engagements for the Director General and staff

Required competences and skills
• 10 years of relevant professional experience with proven experience in linking policy work and communications actions
• Outstanding written and spoken English
• Ability to drive fact based argumentation and to advocate key policy messages
• Extensive network of international press corps in Brussels and beyond (you may be a journalist with broader skills and experience)
• A profound interest and proven knowledge in digitalisation and the digital industry
• Experience working in international environments
• Strong and end-to-end event management experience
• Excellent organisational, networking and interpersonal skills
• Manage direct and virtual teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• People management experience in leading a small agile team with direct and indirect reports
