Richard joined DIGITALEUROPE in January 2023 as Officer for Digital Health Policy.
Before joining the organisation, Richard was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action doctoral researcher at the University of Vienna, the University of Bologna and the University of Turin, where he completed the Law, Science and Technology Joint Doctorate – Rights of Internet of Everything program. In his PhD dissertation entitled “Internet of Healthcare (Law): Privacy and Data Protection Aspects in an Internet of Everything”, Richard analysed privacy, data protection and data governance-related regulatory and compliance issues affecting the deployment and use of new enabling technologies (IoT, AI) and platform services in healthcare. As part of an industrial PhD collaboration, he worked with DocPlanner Group.
Prior to that, Richard worked in academia (Ghent University, University of Brescia) and auditing (State Audit Office of Hungary). He is a research fellow at the University of Milan.
Richard holds a master’s (Dr. jur.) degree in Law, an LL.M. degree in European Law, and bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Accounting, and Human Resource Management.
