Job description

We are looking for a Policy (Senior) Manager who will be responsible for driving the association’s technical positions and activities in several areas, with an initial focus on standardisation and product compliance.

The prospective candidate should come from a solid legal background and have willingness and the ability to grasp the underlying complex technical and commercial aspects; or from a consulting/engineering background, with willingness and ability to translate complex technical and commercial aspects into impactful policy positions.

 

Key requirements for the role include

  • Master’s degree in engineering, law, economics or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience in a relevant industry or governmental position. 
  • Experience in standardisation, conformity assessment and product compliance highly desirable. 
  • Well organised with a proven ability to multitask. 
  • Ability to build consensus and promote trust both externally and internally. 
  • Excellent research, writing and analytical skills. 
  • Ability to synthesise policy documents, identifying relevant key points, facts and statistics that help explain complex technical topics to broad audiences in a concise way. 
  • Excellent presentation skills, with experience of presenting to senior staff and external audiences. 
  • Excellent writing skills in English.  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and culturally diverse environment, with competing priorities and workloads. 
  • Ability to consistently apply good judgment and make good and responsible decisions.
