Senior Project Manager

Job description 

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager who will be responsible for coordinating DIGITALEUROPE’s EU-funded projects. The position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced project manager with important research background and strong interest in digital matters to lead on the implementation of complex EU projects in close cooperation with DIGITALEUROPE Project and Policy Teams members.

Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage the daily activities and implementation of DIGITALEUROPE’s projects.
  • Take a pivotal liaison role with all internal and external stakeholders and ensure efficient communications with the European Commission.
  • Monitor the overall progress regarding milestones and deliverables, reporting to the Director for Operations and Projects.
  • Identify and manage risks linked to the project implementation, as well as propose and implement adequate risk mitigation measures.
  • Champion the preparation of deliverables, including research oriented reports and annual reports, as well as preparation of progress reports to the European Commission.
  • Identify additional funding opportunities for the development of DIGITALEUROPE’s project activities and contribute to the design of new project proposals.

Required competencies and skills 

  • 3 to 5 years of work experience in project management, with at least two years working with European funded projects.
  • Experience in writing scientific articles and reports, as well as good knowledge of research and innovation methodologies
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with experience of working collaboratively with staff at all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with experience of presenting to senior staff and external audiences.
  • Proven ability as a community & network builder.
  • Excellent command of English.

Other valuable skills/competencies: 

  • Experience with managing large-scale EU funded projects under the Erasmus+, Digital Europe and Horizon Europe Programmes
  • PhD in an ICT field or related scientific area.
  • Ability to build consensus and promote trust both externally and internally.
  • Additional languages are a plus.
