E-Skills: position on pan-European e-Skills awareness raising campaign, the EU E-Skills Week

27 May 2009

DIGITALEUROPE welcomes the opportunity given by the European Commission to stakeholders to contribute to the idea of the organisation of the "EU e-Skills Week", a pan-European e-Skills awareness raising campaign. This paper is intended to make some suggestions that might be helpful for potential successful implementation of the campaign. It is built upon the experience of DIGITALEUROPE's members, in particular National Trade Associations (NTAs) from the digital technology industry sector, which have a long experience in running similar events at national level and in the challenging task of mobilizing people to study ICT-related subjects or pursuing careers in ICT-enabled jobs (within the ICT industry and other sectors).
