Joint position on compromise amendments

Our associations would like to contribute to the discussions on possible compromise amendments and would be grateful if the points listed below could be taken into account. While we feel considerable progress has been made in some areas, there are still many open questions on a variety of important topics. We are keen to ensure that any compromises support the fundamental goals and objectives of this important piece of EU environmental legislation which has a global impact. Compromises must be practical to apply and be in line with the spirit of a recast, namely simplifying the rules, making them easier to comply with and enforce.
