Statement to Members of the Environment Committee on the WEEE recast

DIGITALEUROPE welcomes the Recast, designed to simplify the Directive, make it easier to comply with and enforce as well as ensure that more WEEE is officially collected and treated properly in accordance with Annex II. DIGITALEUROPE members are committed to treat 100% of the WEEE that is returned to them. We welcome the report by Karl Heinz Florenz which was an important step forward towards ensuring that an effective legislative framework is established to facilitate better collection volumes, clearer definitions and better enforcement.
