2.5 Use of ICT tele-working facilities helps to reduce global warming.

Audio and video conference devices, virtual answering machines, etc are all information technology and telecommunications products that enable tele-working and remote access to information and entertainment. WWF has estimated[1] that travel replacement of 20% of business travels by videoconferencing in the EU would results in C02 reductions of some 22.35 million tones per year.
DIGITALEUROPE members' technologies limit unnecessary traveling for business around Europe, in particular for SMEs that cannot afford extensive traveling. For DIGITALEUROPE members, the use of videoconferencing enables teams located in different countries and continents to meet frequently, build relationships, and share detailed information. And if you really need to travel, remember that mobile technology can save you time and energy by reducing unnecessary traveling eg. finding most efficient route through mobile navigation.
