TRUE. Multifunctional devices save resources by combining the functions of multiple machines into one device and save energy compared to the appliances that they replace. They also integrate power management features to enter energy saving modes automatically (see 2.3).
Some DIGITALEUROPE members design multifunctional products that consume over 70% less energy than the combined energy consumption of the individual copier, fax and printers they replace. In addition, DIGITALEUROPE members are working to design products containing as many reused parts as much as possible. For example, manufacturers already offer some printer models which contain over 80% re-used part by weight.
