2.1 Can I buy ICT equipment guided by the EU ENERGY STAR logo?
TRUE. You can calculate your energy savings for ICT equipment online here. The EU Energy Star® label for IT products is used to differentiate efficient products from less efficient ones. More visibility of this label at point of sale is necessary to increase recognition of this voluntary label and hence, stimulate the demand for more efficient products.
Virtually all DIGITALEUROPE members manufacturing ICT equipment (computers, copiers, printers and computer monitors) are members of the EU Energy Star program. The European Commission estimates that products labeled with Energy Star are expected to yield 30 TWh electricity savings ? the approximate equivalent of the electricity demand in Hungary - in the EU over the next three years.
