NASSCOM, the National Association of Software and Services Companies of India, visited DIGITALEUROPE on January 23rd. Together, they elaborated on common values and shared principles with regard to digital transformation and inclusion, reiterating the importance of the digital technology for the European and Indian society. To this extent, the partners welcomed any future cooperation to strengthen the links between "Digital India" and the "Digital Single Market for Europe".

They also discussed remaining roadblocks on the way to smoother trade flows between the EU and India. To this extent, they looked into possible solutions to current political and economic challenges. Both sides agreed on the need to foster tighter cooperation between them in order to help building a stronger dialogue between the EU and India. In particular, possibilities for cooperation with regard to skills and data protection were identified.

Having acknowledged the merits of trying to reach a common understanding of the main issues at stake, both parties are open to the idea of creating an ad hoc permanent structure in the future. DIGITALEUROPE is looking forward to upholding its longstanding and tight relationship with NASSCOM in the months and years to come.
