DIGITALEUROPE has identified the cloud as a major development likely to inform the future of our industry in Europe and globally. Accordingly we are committed to facilitate its uptake across Europe, especially among SMEs. We have developed a series of tools to deliver on this commitment, to reach out to our main constituencies and to make the most of the Commission’s cloud strategy.
Internally, the Cloud Council announced on 19 June 2013 will provide our Executive Board with a handy dashboard that will make it easier for EXB members to steer the right course.

Digital in Practice Programme (DiPP)
The Digital in Practice Programme takes over from our successful Cloud in Practice Programme to keep nurturing a rewarding debate on economic, societal and technical issues raised by cutting-edge digital technology. DIGITALEUROPE aims to make a case for the digital industry’s activities and to evidence the solid and positive impact digital services will have on the European economy. These workshops aim to demonstrate best practice and deep dive into the issues, thus providing a powerful education platform for the industry and political stakeholders to share information and discuss the many opportunities digital technology brings to Europe.

A key component of the CloudWATCH initiative supported by the European Commission, the Hub will complement the face-to-face engagement promoted by the CiPP with a digital platform where to find and share relevant information. This “Cloud Observatory” scheduled to go live in mid-2014 will be a unique source of the essential information that potential suppliers and users of all kinds will need: guidelines on how to get ready to be a happy cloud user; information on how to find the right cloud service provider for you; case studies from successful users in both the public and private sectors, from Europe and beyond; news on developments, research, studies and events; information on skills and other resources, to name but a few.
For further information see the CloudWatch Hub website.
